Half Day (4 hour) Barramundi Fishing Charters
For those keen to target Barramundi but short on time, our half-day Barra fishing charters offer an opportunity to explore Darwin’s productive tidal creeks and estuaries in Darwin Harbour. Using our fast vessels, we aim to get you to potential Barra territory efficiently. Our team meticulously monitors the critical factors like tides, water clarity, and recent activity to give us the best chance of finding fish on the day.
We typically run these charters in either the morning or afternoon, depending on the most favourable tides and conditions. Please let us know your preference when booking.
Given the shorter timeframe, our half-day trips are focused squarely on targeting Barramundi. While we’re dedicated to finding fish, it’s important to remember Barra can be elusive, and success is never guaranteed – it is fishing, after all! We can’t cover as much ground or offer the same variety of locations as our full-day trips, but it’s a good way to experience the thrill of Barra fishing without committing to a full day. Your guide will be on hand to offer tips on casting and techniques. We’ll also have snacks and cool drinks available to keep you comfortable throughout the trip.

Full Day (8 hour) Barramundi Fishing Charters
Embark on an unforgettable 8-hour full-day Barramundi fishing adventure designed to give you the best possible opportunity to land the Northern Territory’s most iconic fish. Led by highly experienced local guides, each charter is carefully planned around the tides, weather, and seasonal conditions to maximise your chances of success. Depending on conditions, we target some of the region’s most productive saltwater Barra locations, including the Adelaide River, Coastal Floodplains, Bynoe Harbour, Shoal Bay, and other major river systems and local harbours.
Your day begins at approximately 6:30am (tide dependent) with a friendly welcome and comprehensive safety briefing at the Darwin Boat Ramp. As we travel toward our chosen destination, enjoy a light breakfast and take in the early morning conditions. If the day’s plan requires launching from an alternative location, comfortable 4WD transport with the boat in tow is provided from a central Darwin meeting point about 10 minutes from the CBD.
Once on the water, your guide will offer hands-on instruction and expert assistance, helping you refine proven Barra techniques such as casting, trolling, and live baiting. Whether you’re new to Barra fishing or a seasoned angler, our guides are there to ensure you get the most out of every opportunity.
Throughout the day, we keep you well looked after with plenty of snacks, cold drinks, and a satisfying lunch.
When conditions allow, we may also include mud crabbing and/or reef or sport fishing as part of your Barra charter, adding extra variety to your day on the water. While not guaranteed on every trip, we always aim to offer these bonus experiences whenever possible.
You’re welcome to keep your catch, and our crew will professionally clean, fillet, and bag your fish ready to take home. All fishing is conducted in strict accordance with Northern Territory fishing regulations and bag limits, ensuring a responsible and sustainable fishing experience.

Extended Day (10 hour) Barramundi Fishing Charters
Our 10-hour Extended Barramundi Charters are designed for anglers who want more time on the water and the ability to fish remote locations that aren’t accessible on a standard day trip. The longer duration allows us to travel further and target areas such as the Tiwi Islands, remote coastal creeks, and remote floodplains, depending on conditions.
Each charter is run by experienced local guides and planned around the tides, weather, and seasonal conditions to make the most of the day. The additional time gives us flexibility to move between locations, adjust plans as conditions change, and spend more time fishing productive water.
The day typically starts around 6:30am (tide dependent) with a safety briefing at the Darwin Boat Ramp. For trips requiring alternative launch points, 4WD transport with the boat in tow is provided from a central Darwin meeting point about 10 minutes from the CBD.
On the water, your guide will provide instruction and assistance as needed, covering common barramundi techniques such as casting, trolling, and live baiting. The charter is suitable for both first-time Barra anglers and those with previous fishing experience.
Snacks, cold drinks, and lunch are provided throughout the day.
When conditions allow, we may also include mud crabbing and/or reef or sport fishing as part of the trip. These activities aren’t guaranteed but are offered where time and conditions permit.
You’re welcome to keep your legal catch, with fish cleaned, filleted, and bagged at the end of the day. All fishing is conducted in accordance with Northern Territory fishing regulations and bag limits.

‘Another 2 fantastic days fishing with Offshore Boats. Jon was our skipper and guide for our third trip (2018, 2019 and this year 2022). This time Jon had a bit more pressure on with my 93 year old Dad on board to cross catching a wild Barra off his bucket list. Jon delivered as always, with my Dad not catching 1 bucket list Barra, but 2 measuring 100cm and 101cm. Bucket list done with 2 trophy Barramundi. Jon my Dad cannot thank you enough for all your help on both days to achieve his goal, he is a very happy man. Besides Dad’s Barra other members of the group pulled in another 4 Barra, 100cm, 101cm, 103cm and 104cm. I also caught a 119cm black Jew fish. Jordan and his team cater for all your needs with the best equipment to land your catch and during the day a constant supply of water, soft drinks, snacks and fantastic lunches. Offshore Boats offer the complete package and there fishing expertise is second to none. Thanks again Jon. Jordon and your team. See you next time!”
